A New Year’s Challenge

January 5, 2015 by hsotr

A New Year's ChallengeMany of us tend to see the New Year as a time to re-evaluate the past and make plans and resolutions for the future.  How about changing the focus a little bit?

Here’s a challenge:

Read through the entire Bible this year.  That’s it.

To make this a little easier, we’d like to recommend two favorite reading plans:

  1. Weekly Bible Reading Chart
Instead of plowing straight through from cover to cover, you may appreciate the variety of this plan.  Every day of the week, you tackle a different type of reading: gospels, law, history, psalms, poetry, prophecy, or epistles.
  2. MacArthur Daily Bible
This version offers four types of reading every day: Old Testament, New Testament, Psalms, and Proverbs.  Along the way are a few select study notes by Dr. John MacArthur.  You can find the references and notes free at the link above, but for convenience you may want to consider the print copy, which includes the New King James text.

You’re only a few days behind at this point.  Maybe take advantage of some of these cold winter days to catch up.

Simple?  Yes, but it’s a project that will bear fruit in the long run.  Read more on this in our November 2014 Scripture Passages of the Month.

Enjoy, and may God use His Word to bless you and your family.
