First select from one of the following states:
- Iowa.
- Illinois.
- Indiana.
- Kansas.
- Michigan.
- Minnesota.
- Missouri.
- Nebraska.
- North Dakota.
- Ohio.
- Ontario.
- South Dakota.
- Wisconsin.
Then select your county, or choose to average all counties in your state, which will adjust the results for frost data.
Next, choose up to three goals:
- Fighting erosion.
- Interseeding with a cash crop.
- Leaving lasting residue.
- Building soil.
- Fighting weeds.
- Grazing.
- Much more!
If you’d like, you can further customize your results by entering some or all of the following information:
- Cash crop.
- Planting and harvest dates.
- Drainage and flooding conditions.
The tool will then output a chart showing your best options, including a rating of each plant’s suitability for your goals, a note if the cover crop is suitable for frost seeding, and a chart showing recommended planting dates.
