Thank You, God, for making wind,
For the mighty storms that You send;
Thank You for the rainbow’s bend.
Thank You, God, for Kansas.
Thank You, God, for red-tailed hawks,
For the killdeer nest among the rocks;
Thank You for the turkey flocks.
Thank You, God, for Kansas.
Thank You, God, for making stars,
For the moon, for Venus, and for Mars;
Thank You for these sunsets of ours.
Thank You, God, for Kansas.
Thank You, God, for what You sow,
For grass for steers and buffalo;
Thank You for the flowers also.
Thank You, God, for Kansas.
Thank You, God, for the old High Plains,
For the hilltops green in springtime rains;
Thank You for the fields of grains.
Thank You, God, for Kansas.
Thank You, God, for our past,
For those who weathered hardship’s blast;
Thank You for those spirits steadfast.
Thank You, God, for Kansas.
Thank You, God, for what’s yet to be,
For what will happen if we trust in Thee;
Thank You for the hope we see.
Thank You, God, for Kansas.
