The 3:16 Promise

We all know John 3:16:

For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.

But do we really understand the power of this verse?

The 3:16 Promise

In The 3:16 Promise, Max Lucado ably draws our attention to the four key parts of this verse:

  1. He loves.
  2. He gave.
  3. We believe.
  4. We live.

All in the space of a very small book, we learn just what these four key phrases mean to us. We realize the significance of God’s love, given when we didn’t deserve it. We learn what it means to take that simple step of faith and believe. And we learn what a great gift we are granted when we accept it.

The presentation is friendly and inviting, but solidly Scripture-based. It appears to have been written with seekers in view, but it is also a superb reminder to those who already believe what it’s all about.
